The piece evokes the presence of a river on a reactive circular surface, where the audience interacts by adjusting the parameters of light and sound through touch.
As the activity intensifies, the work
begins to disintegrate, leaving only traces as the pulse marks the flow of the water, recreating an ephemeral experience that connects the visual, the sound and the interactive.
In the darkness of the space we find the sounds of a river making us aware of the weight of our presence, advancing the momentum by our consciousness.
Cuando el río suena has been my first piece in which I combine my
creations with elements of the new media universe, looking at the symbiosis of the narrative and spatial possibilities that it offers.
Designed for the center of a dark exhibition room and combining Arduino it explores the relationship between the individual and the possibility of putting together their own narrative. This piece showed me the range of possibilities to integrate these technologies in my artistic practice.
This project arises in 2023 in the frame of the New Media studies in La Casa Encendida, Madrid.
